Christmas in Kagawong: Held annually in December this is a Christmas Market featuring local crafts and arts by local artists and artisans. Santa always pays a visit as well. Lots of fun for the whole family.
Car Show & Shine: Held in July each year this event is where automobile enthusiasts gather to display their vehicles, often emphasizing their cleanliness, condition and overall presentation. The event provides an opportunity for car enthusiasts to connect, admire each other’s vehicles, share knowledge and appreciate automotive craftmanship and design. The public is welcome to attend and admire these vehicles from yesteryear.
ArtinFusion Weekend: SAVE THE DATE - July 6 & 7, 2024
Started in 2023, this new festival is promised to be a popular annual event in the area. The weekend includes the Jabbawong Story Telling Festival and Art in the Park. Activities include a bbq lunch, Art in the Park Exhibitions, Plein Air Festival, Vendor Market, Workshops and Traditional Story Telling.
4 Elements Elemental Festival: An annual cultural arts festival held at the Kagawong Park Centre in September. Watch for more details as the event gets closer.
Canada Day Celebrations: Each Canada Day Gore Bay hosts a great Canada Day Celebration of activities for all ages. To top it off Gore Bay hosts one of the best fireworks displays on Manitoulin Island.
Christmas Tree Lighting & Santa Claus Parade: Held annually on the first weekend of December, this event draws crowds from all of Western Manitoulin and surrounding communities. 2024 marks the 22nd annual parade and it is still going strong.
Frosty Cup Hockey Tournament: Held annually just before Christmas, this event is a fundraiser for local individuals/families in need. It is also an action packed weekend of hockey. Started in 2014, this tournament has generously donated thousands of dollars to those in need in Western Manitoulin.
Gore Bay Harbour Days: Held annually on the 4th weekend of July. This three day event is not to be missed! Filled with activities for the whole family, it promises to be a fun filled weekend for all. Activities include the famous Cardboard Boat Races, children’s live shows, children’s games, swimming pool fishing, dunk tank, face painting, lots of inflatables, live music, dancing, beer garden, fish fry, pancake breakfast, beef on a bun and so much more. Each year there is a “special act”. Previous years have included a water ski show, parasailing, inflatable water park. Sponsored by the Town of Gore Bay in partnership with the Western Manitoulin Lions Club and Gore Bay Rotary Club, it is a well organized event for people of all ages.
Porter-Clark-Purvis-Thibault Hockey Tournament: This annual hockey tournament is held annually on the first weekend of March. It is a fundraiser for the Minor Hockey. It offers exciting hockey action and has become a “Homecoming” event in Gore Bay.
Gordon Advent Christmas Market: Held the first weekend of December, this annual event is an opportunity to purchase arts, crafts and traditional food and drinks. Known for its cheerful atmosphere, it is a great place to find unique gifts while enjoying the spirit of the holidays.
Julia Bay Summer BBQ/Potluck: Held in August each year. This community event is fun for the whole family. Hot dogs provided. Bring a potluck dish to share, your own picnic ware, and chair. Swim at the sand beach, enjoy a great meal, and be entertained by local talent. It's a can't miss event in Gordon/Barrie Island. Dates vary each year, watch for updates.
Go Fly a KiteFest: Held the first Sunday in June each year. Be sure to check it out! It's a fun filled FREE family event!
July 1 st Picnic & Parade: This popular event brings the locals and visitors together to enjoy games, delicious food, and a fantastic Canada Day parade that evokes pride in everyone that gathers. It is a fun filled day for individuals and families to experience.

Annual Traditional Powwow: Held in June each year. The Powwow is a cultural celebration that includes dancing, drumming, singing, socializing, crafts, arts and food. Experience the rich Indigenous culture.
Annual ATV Ride: Held annual on the long weekend in May. The ride takes you on a scenic route through lush forest and lakeshore properties. For ATV enthusiasts, this is a great experience. Always check Ontario and local rules and regulations before embarking on an ATV ride, ensuring a safe and enjoyable adventure.
Annual Beef BBQ Dinner: Held the end of July. This has been a popular event that brings both locals and visitors together for the best home cooking experience. Let the Meldrum Bay Volunteers do the cooking, while you sit back, enjoy great company and great food.
